Neatsaves keeps the posts you save so it can sort them and bring them back. This page says what that involves, in plain words. There is no advertising in Neatsaves and your saves are never sold.
What we keep
- Your account: your name, email address and a hash of your password. We never see the password itself.
- Your saves: each link, and what Neatsaves read from it: title, caption, author, cover image, transcript when there is one, and the page text the extension sent. Plus what Neatsaves wrote about it (summary, category, next step, checklist) and anything you added, like notes and collections.
- Usage counts: how many saves and imports you used this month, so the Free plan limits work.
- Billing, on Pro: your Stripe customer ID and subscription status. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
- API keys you create for the iPhone Shortcut, MCP or scripts. We store a hash of each key, not the key itself.
Visits to the website: we use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count page views and see how fast pages load. They set no cookies and don't follow you to other sites; a visitor is recognized only by a hash that resets every day. We also count a few clicks, like signing up or downloading the extension. We record the page path, never the rest of the address, so a link you share into Neatsaves isn't included.
There are no ad trackers, and Neatsaves doesn't read your browsing history.
What the extension does
The extension runs on x.com, instagram.com, tiktok.com and youtube.com so it can notice when you press that site's own Like, Bookmark, Save or Favorite button. It sends a post to Neatsaves only when you press one of those, when you save a page yourself (toolbar, shortcut or right-click), or when you start a sync of your X likes or bookmarks. Nothing else you do on those sites is sent.
Who helps run it
- Convex stores your account and saves and runs the backend.
- Vercel hosts the website and runs the visit counts above.
- Google Gemini reads each save so it can sort it and write its next step. On Pro, it also watches the video.
- Jina Reader fetches some public pages for us when a site won't load them directly. It sees the link, not your account.
- Stripe handles payments for Pro.
Taking your saves with you
Settings has one-click exports as Markdown, CSV and JSON, with your notes and checklists. Use them whenever you like.
Deleting your account
Go to Settings → Data → Delete account. You're signed out everywhere and your API keys stop working right away. A Pro subscription is cancelled, then your saves, collections, notes and the rest of your data are deleted. Signing up again with the same email starts a new, empty account.
Contact
Questions about your data, or a request we should handle by hand: write to support@neatsaves.com from the email address on your account, so we know the request is yours.
