The tools at a glance
Every price here comes from the tool's own pricing page on November 2, 2026. We make Neatsaves, so read its row with that in mind.

What to look for in an X bookmark manager
Look past the feature list. Check how the tool gets your bookmarks, who does the filing, what export costs, and where else you save.
- How it gets them. Tools on X's API see only your 800 most recent bookmarks. Extensions read the Bookmarks page in your browser instead.
- Who files them. Folders and tags you apply by hand stay tidy only as long as you keep at it.
- What export costs. Dewey sells a $50 Export Pass that lasts 48 hours. Tweetsmash puts exports in its $99 Yearly Pass or a $49 pass.
- Where else you save. If you also save on TikTok or Instagram, an X-only tool holds part of your library.
Each tool in a few lines
Tweetsmash and ContextBolt are built around X. Readwise Reader is a reading app that imports X. Raindrop is a general bookmark manager. Dewey and Neatsaves cover several social apps.
- Dewey pulls bookmarks from X and from networks such as TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Threads. The free plan syncs when you ask; Pro syncs on its own. (Dewey)
- Tweetsmash imports your X bookmarks for free. The $7 plan adds chat and full-text search. The $99 Yearly Pass adds automatic sync of new bookmarks and export to Notion and Google Sheets.
- Readwise Reader saves articles, PDFs, newsletters, YouTube videos and X threads for reading. It's the priciest pick here, and it's built for reading more than for sorting.
- Raindrop is free for unlimited bookmarks and collections. Pro adds full-text search and permanent copies of pages. It has no X sync of its own; you save each link. (Raindrop)
- ContextBolt tags each X and Reddit save from its extension. Pro removes the 150-bookmark cap and adds export and an MCP endpoint for Claude, Cursor and Codex.
- Neatsaves brings in likes as well as bookmarks from X, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Reddit, and files each post into a category it names from your library. Search by meaning and export are on both plans. Pro adds Connect X, Ask with cited answers, and MCP.
Which one should you pick?
Pick by where you save. For X alone and exports to Notion, choose Tweetsmash. For threads you plan to read, try Readwise Reader. For saves across several apps, choose Dewey, or Neatsaves if you want the sorting done for you.
- You only want folders and already pay for Premium: X's own bookmark folders.
- Only X, and you work in Notion or Google Sheets: Tweetsmash.
- Only X, and fewer than 150 bookmarks: ContextBolt's free plan.
- You save threads to read and highlight later: Readwise Reader.
- Mostly web pages that you file yourself: Raindrop.
- Several social apps, with folders and Notion: Dewey.
- Likes and bookmarks from five apps, filed for you as they come in: Neatsaves.
Where Neatsaves falls short
Neatsaves' Chrome extension isn't on the Chrome Web Store yet, so you install it by hand, and there's no native phone app.
- Add to Chrome downloads a zip. You load it once from chrome://extensions with Developer mode on, and it doesn't update itself.
- On phones, Android gets Neatsaves in the share sheet from a home-screen shortcut, and iPhone uses a Shortcut.
- The free plan imports 500 older saves once. A bigger history needs Pro, which holds up to 25,000.
- It's new. There are no reviews or user counts to point to yet.
Questions
- What's the best free Twitter bookmark manager?
- It depends on how many you have. ContextBolt is free up to 150 bookmarks. Tweetsmash imports your history for free. Raindrop is free without a cap but doesn't sync X. Neatsaves' free plan sorts 100 new saves a month plus 500 older ones, once.
- Can a bookmark manager get past X's 800-bookmark limit?
- The 800 cap applies to X's API, per X's developer forum. Tools that read the Bookmarks page in your browser, as extensions do, aren't bound by it, though they only get what the page loads.
- Do I need X Premium for bookmark folders?
- Yes. X lists bookmark folders in every Premium tier. Basic is the cheapest at $3 a month or $32 a year in the US.
- Which bookmark managers also work with TikTok and Instagram?
- Of the tools here, Dewey and Neatsaves. Dewey covers TikTok and Instagram, plus a longer list of networks that runs from Bluesky to Substack. Neatsaves covers X, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Reddit, likes included.
- Which ones let you export for free?
- Neatsaves exports Markdown, CSV and JSON on every plan. ContextBolt exports on Pro. Dewey sells a $50 Export Pass, and Tweetsmash puts exports in its $99 Yearly Pass or $49 Exports Pass.
- Is Neatsaves on the Chrome Web Store?
- Not yet. Add to Chrome on neatsaves.com downloads a zip that you load once with Developer mode, which takes about a minute.
