Dewey alternative: Neatsaves vs Dewey
Last updated November 2, 2026
If you want your X bookmarks, TikTok favorites and Instagram saves sorted without tagging them yourself, Neatsaves files every post into a category on its free plan and exports for free. Dewey syncs more networks, Bluesky included. Its free plan syncs by hand, though, and Pro costs $10 a month against $8 for Neatsaves.
Sort everything you've liked and saved, in one place.
Free includes a one-time import of 500 older likes and bookmarks. No card needed.
Neatsaves and Dewey side by side
Both pull your social bookmarks into one library. Dewey reaches more networks and tags from keywords you give it, while Neatsaves picks each post's category itself and exports for free.

What Dewey does well
Dewey syncs bookmarks from more social networks than Neatsaves does, and it plugs into Notion, Google Sheets and RSS. If you post on Bluesky, LinkedIn or Threads, that alone may decide it.
- It reaches a lot of networks. Besides X, its site lists Bluesky, Mastodon and Reddit and has pages for TikTok favorites and Instagram saved posts.
- You can connect several X and Bluesky accounts and see every bookmark in one place, per its home page.
- New bookmarks can flow into a Notion database or out through an RSS feed, and folders can be shared on a public link (home page).
- Dewey AI shows the tags it proposes before it applies them, so you can fix the rules first (Dewey AI).
- There's a one-time $225 lifetime plan if you hate subscriptions.
Where Neatsaves is different
Dewey asks you for keywords and tags from them. Neatsaves reads each post, including what's said in a video, and names the categories from your own library, on the free plan too.
With Dewey AI you type keywords about your interests, rate a sample, then apply tags across your library. Neatsaves skips that setup. It reads each save's caption, photos and transcript when there is one, then files it under a category like Food & Recipes or AI & Dev Tools. The names come from what you keep, and big categories split into topics.
The free plans differ too. Dewey's free plan syncs by hand, connects one account and leaves out export. On Neatsaves Free, the extension copies a post the moment you like or bookmark it, you can bring in 500 older saves once, and export works the same as on Pro.
YouTube is the other gap. Dewey's site doesn't list it. Neatsaves brings in the videos you liked on YouTube along with everything else.
Moving from Dewey to Neatsaves
You don't need a Dewey export to switch. The Neatsaves extension reads your X bookmarks, TikTok favorites and Instagram saved posts straight from the apps.
- Sign up for Neatsaves and add the Chrome extension. It isn't on the Chrome Web Store yet, so you load the zip once by hand. It takes about a minute.
- Press Sync everything. The extension opens your X bookmarks, YouTube likes, TikTok favorites, Instagram saved posts and Reddit saves in turn and scrolls each one to the end.
- If you already have a CSV from Dewey, import it too. Saves you already have aren't added twice.
On Free, older posts brought in this way come out of the one-time 500. Pro has no monthly limit, up to 25,000 saves.
Who should pick Dewey, and who should pick Neatsaves
Pick Dewey if you need Bluesky, LinkedIn or Threads, or a Notion sync. Pick Neatsaves if you want TikTok, Instagram and YouTube saves sorted for you and free export.
- Dewey fits if you post on Bluesky, LinkedIn, Threads or Mastodon, run several accounts, or want bookmarks landing in Notion. Its extension installs from the Chrome Web Store in one click. The Neatsaves extension doesn't yet.
- Neatsaves fits if your saves are spread across X, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube and you never got around to tagging them. It costs $2 a month less than Dewey Pro, and you can get every save out as Markdown, CSV or JSON on the free plan.
Questions
- Is there a free alternative to Dewey?
- Neatsaves has a free plan: 100 new saves a month and a one-time import of 500 older likes and bookmarks. Every save gets sorted into a category, and export is included.
- How much does Dewey cost?
- On Nov 2, 2026, Dewey's pricing page listed Pro at $10 a month, or $7.50 a month billed yearly. Lifetime was $225, and a $50 Export Pass lasted 48 hours. The free plan syncs by hand.
- Does Neatsaves work with TikTok and Instagram like Dewey?
- Yes. Neither app lets an outside service read your saved or liked lists, so the Neatsaves extension opens them in Chrome, where you're signed in, and scrolls to the end. After that it saves each post the moment you like or save it.
- Does Neatsaves support Bluesky, LinkedIn or Threads?
- Not today. Neatsaves brings in X, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Reddit, plus any link you paste. If those other networks matter most to you, Dewey covers them.
- Can I export everything from Neatsaves?
- Yes, on every plan. Settings has one-click exports as Markdown, CSV and JSON, with your notes and checklists included.
- Is the Neatsaves extension on the Chrome Web Store?
- Not yet. Add to Chrome downloads a zip. You unzip it, turn on Developer mode in chrome://extensions and click Load unpacked. It won't update itself, so you download new versions by hand.
