How to use your X (Twitter) bookmarks with ChatGPT or Claude
Last updated November 3, 2026
ChatGPT and Claude can't open your X bookmarks, and X has no way to export them. Copy them out with a tool that reads your Bookmarks page, export them as Markdown or CSV, and attach the file to a chat. In Claude Code or Cursor, an MCP server lets the agent search them whenever it needs to.

Can ChatGPT or Claude read your X bookmarks?
No. X bookmarks are private, the X data archive leaves them out, and X's API gives apps only your 800 most recent.
You have to give the AI your bookmarks another way: attach a file, or connect a tool it can call. (X Developers forum on the archive, X Developers forum on the API)
Get your bookmarks into a file
Sync your Bookmarks page into a tool that reads it, then export Markdown or CSV. Markdown keeps each post readable for an AI, and CSV suits a spreadsheet.
- Install the Neatsaves Chrome extension. It isn't on the Chrome Web Store yet, so Add to Chrome on neatsaves.com downloads a zip that you load once from chrome://extensions with Developer mode on. It takes about a minute.
- Sign in to x.com in that Chrome, open the extension's Sync tab and start X bookmarks.
- Let it scroll to the end. A pill on the page counts the posts it found and sent.
- In Neatsaves, open Settings and export as Markdown.
Each entry in the Markdown export has the post's link, its topic, the date you saved it, a summary and a next step. That gives the AI more to go on than a list of links.
Free holds 25 saves. Pro is $8 a month or $72 a year and holds up to 25,000. Search by meaning and export work on both plans.
What to ask once the file is attached
Attach the export to a new chat in ChatGPT or Claude. Name a topic, or say what you want to end up with.
- Which of these bookmarks are about AI coding tools? List them with links.
- Group these by topic and pick three to read first.
- Going by the summaries, which of these tools have a free plan?
- Turn the bookmarks about launch marketing into a checklist.
With thousands of bookmarks, a search beats one huge file. The MCP route below looks up only the posts that match each question.
Let Claude Code or Cursor search them for you
Connect the Neatsaves MCP server and the agent searches your bookmarks by meaning when a task calls for it, with no file to export again.
On Pro, Connect X also brings in new X bookmarks and likes by itself, about once a week, including ones you saved on your phone. How to connect Claude Code.
Questions
- How do I get my Twitter bookmarks into ChatGPT?
- Export them to a file and attach it to a chat. X can't export bookmarks itself, so use a tool that reads your Bookmarks page, such as the Neatsaves extension, then download Markdown or CSV.
- Can I upload my X archive to ChatGPT instead?
- Only for likes. The archive holds your posts and likes, with likes in a file called like.js, but it has no bookmarks.
- How many bookmarks can I export?
- Tools that use X's API get your 800 most recent. Tools that read the Bookmarks page get what the page loads. Neatsaves holds 25 saves on Free and up to 25,000 on Pro.
- Can I do the same with my X likes?
- Yes. Sync your Likes page with the extension, or drop your X archive on Neatsaves' Import page. Likes and bookmarks end up in one library and one search.
- Does the AI company see my bookmarks?
- It sees what you send. An attached file goes into that chat. Over MCP, the agent receives only the saves it looks up.
